@ucom.net Email Migration Complete
The migration of @ucom.net email addresses to the new system was completed at 10:15 this morning. 
 
 When prompted to enter your login information, enter your FULL EMAIL ADDRESS in the username field.  PLEASE DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING IN THE PASSWORD FIELD.   
 
We appreciate your patience as we work to provide you the best possible email experience.  These changes will give you a better, more secure service going forward.  United is committed to assisting you with these changes. Please keep an eye out for email from United regarding additional settings changes that will need to be made on your devices in the coming weeks.  If you have any questions regarding these changes, call our Helpdesk at 620-227-8641 during our business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.  Thank you for being a valued customer! 

 
Email Migration Update - Tuesday, 06/02/20 3:30PM
@ucom.net Email Migration Rescheduled for 6 p.m. tonight 
The migration of @unitedwireless.com email addresses was completed last night but migration of the @ucom.net email addresses to the new system was postponed and has been rescheduled to 6 p.m. tonight, Tuesday, June 2.  We expect the migration will be completed by 8 a.m. Wednesday morning, June 3.  Customers should expect outages with email on Webmail and on their email clients (Outlook, Thunderbird, cell phones, etc.) until the overnight migration has been completed. 
 
**Upon completion of the migration, you will be prompted to enter your login information.  You will need to enter your FULL EMAIL ADDRESS for the username field.  PLEASE DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING IN THE PASSWORD FIELD.

Email Migration Update - Tuesday, 06/02/20 9:00AM
The @unitedwireless.com email addresses were migrated to the new system early this morning, Tuesday, June 2.  The migration of @ucom.net email addresses to the new system has been postponed. 
 
@unitedwireless.com email addresses: 
The migration of @unitedwireless.com email addresses to the new system was completed this morning.  Customers with @unitedwireless.com email addresses will need to log in using their full email address and password when prompted beginning this morning. Customers with @unitedwireless.com email addresses will notice a new webmail interface.  Be watching for an email from United containing helpful information about accessing spam firewall settings using the new webmail and other items. 
 
@ucom.net email addresses: 
The @ucom.net migration has been postponed.  No changes were made on that system.  We will continue to post updates via email, social media, and our website. If prompted, customers with @ucom.net email addresses should continue to log in with their regular username (not full email address) and password as they normally would.

Email Migration
The time for the migration of ucom.net and unitedwireless.com email addresses to our new system is upon us. Migration is scheduled to begin on Monday evening, June 1 at 6:00 p.m. If you do not have an email address ending in @ucom.net or @unitedwireless.com, your email service will not be affected. Please note that ucom.net and unitedwireless.com Webmail and client-based email (such as Outlook and Windows Live Mail) will be down for several hours during the migration.
 
**Upon completion of the migration this evening, ucom.net and unitedwireless.com email users will be prompted to enter their login information. United email customers should enter their FULL EMAIL ADDRESS for the username field. In the past, we only required the username (first part of the email address before the “@”); the new system requires that customers log in with their full email address. If the password is already filled in, please do not change anything in that field. If you do not remember your password or have issues accessing your email on Tuesday morning after the migration is completed, please contact United at 620-227-8641 during our business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
 
The following information was sent to affected customers containing more details about the migration:
 
The new system will provide a better user experience for our customers, including a better Webmail interface and enhanced security features, which will require changes to your email settings. Over the course of the coming weeks, we will relay information to you on the changes that will need to be made on your email program. You will still be able to keep and use your same email address.
 
Webmail users will notice a fresh, new interface, but one that will operate similarly to what you are currently using. Please note you will still be able to access Webmail from the links on our websites, and you will not have to update bookmarks with new web addresses/URLs to access Webmail. The spam firewall settings will now be held in Webmail. Please note that any blacklists or whitelists you have set in the current spam firewall system will not be migrated to the new Webmail. These will need to be manually entered into the new system. After migration, we will send more information on how to adjust spam settings in the new Webmail.
 
United is committed to assisting you with these changes. Please stay tuned for more information, including settings you will need to change on your email clients/programs for the new system to work properly. United’s Response to COVID-19

United has been closely following the current situation surrounding the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, and how it is impacting our communities and the ways we operate our business. In the interest of mitigating potential risks of this pandemic and to ensure the continuity of our network, as well as keeping our customers’ and employees’ health in mind, United will begin making changes effective immediately to comply with current CDC and FCC recommendations, as well to comply with other guidelines provided by federal and state governmententities.

Effective immediately, United has suspended operations at the Dodge City Plaza location. Our stores at the Corporate Office in Dodge City and our retail stores in Garden City and Liberal will be staffed to assist customers over the phone. Walk-in traffic will be restricted to appointment-only visits in our retail stores. Please call your local store so our customer service staff can determine if the matter can be resolved over the phone or to make an appointment if a walk-in visit is necessary.

During this time of uncertainty, we know that our customers rely especially on the communications services we provide, and we are committed to continue serving you as we navigate this unprecedented situation. United is in what the Department of Homeland Security deems a “critical infrastructure industry,” and as such, we have a special responsibility to keep our network operational during times of crisis. We are taking these and other steps (including staggering some shifts and having some employees work from home) to ensure the successful operation of our network and so we can respond to any issues that may arise to prevent and resolve any interruptions of service.
